Cedi Osman has decided to continue his professional basketball career overseas

Cedi Osman has chosen to continue his basketball career overseas instead of joining the Los Angeles Lakers.

Cedi Osman, a 29-year-old Turkish forward, has decided to continue his professional basketball career overseas, opting not to join the Los Angeles Lakers. Instead, he has signed a one-year deal with Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, a prestigious team in the Greek EuroLeague. The signing was confirmed by team owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos on Instagram, as reported by Nikola Miloradovic of Eurohoops.

Osman was drafted 31st overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2015 but was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers on draft night. He made his NBA debut in the 2017-18 season after playing several years in Turkey. As a rookie, he contributed in a limited role to a Cavaliers team that reached the NBA Finals but fell to the Golden State Warriors. Osman played in 61 games that year, averaging 11.0 minutes per contest.
