West Ham 2-1 victory over Wolves
One of the most consequential relegation six-pointers of the season so far went the way of West Ham to ease the pressure on Julen Lopetegui.
With his game-winning goal to secure a 2-1 victory over Wolves, Jarrod Bowen relieved pressure on West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui. After Tomas Soucek's earlier effort at the London Stadium was cancelled out by Matt Doherty, the Hammers captain ended a nerve-wracking match with a fantastic solo effort in the 72nd minute.
Gary O'Neil was keen for a victory, therefore Wolves had the finest chance of the first half when Joao Gomes almost missed Doherty's deep cross. Nine minutes after the restart, Soucek gave West Ham the lead with a looping header from a Bowen corner that went over the flat-footed Sam Johnstone. Wolves equalised in the 69th minute when Doherty superbly turned in Rayan Ait-Nouri's cross on the half-volley after VAR denied Mohammed Kudus and The Hammers a second goal.
